Default New 997 this weekend

Well, I took the plunge on Sunday!
I have been looking for a new cab so Sunday I went down to Champion Porsche in South Florida to look around some more. They happened to have a new 05 cab Basalt Black with beige interior and a few options. I tried to engage a rep in conversation about the car but he gave me some smart comment about the car not lasting a day in the showroom and then turned away from me to hit on the secretary sitting at the front desk. I was the only customer in the showroom at the time for him to talk to!
As I was continuing to look around I received a call from a guy I have been working with at Braman Porsche in West Palm Beach who informed me that he had just received two new 05 cabs in and had one left. I immediately headed towards Braman with only about an hour left before they closed. Braman had the same car with the same color scheme with a few more options in the showroom. We worked a deal on the spot. They stayed open late to take care of me and overall provided a great experience. They changed out rims for me and came off MSRP $1,000. I know the discount isn’t great, I probably should have got 2-3K off MSRP but regardless I am driving around a 997 Carrera Cabriolet (Basalt Black Metallic, Sand Beige, 19” Carrera Classic wheels, Sport Chrono, Navigation, Power Seats, Sport Shifter, Upgraded Bose) and I love it. My first Porsche and I already see many more to come.
I will try to upload some pics this weekend.

I know what you mean, and that snob attitude of the dealer is poor business. I had the same experience, and went to a competitor and got 50% discount on the high end Bose stereo system, SOLD it was a deal.

My car was a custom order and the wait was well worth it, it is Seal Gray and I get comments on the color all the time.

Not sure how a sales manager puts up with the snob attitude, I'd be like The Donald and say, YOUR FIRED!

Congrats and enjoy.

Hope you drive your new car back to Champion, ask for the general manager, show him the car you bought the same day you tried to work a deal there, and tell him what an a-hole his salesman was.

I'm glad everything turned out well. I can't believe how the other sales rep treated you. I hope someone there reads this post, find out who was there that day and questions him on the spot. In any event enjoy your cab. I have been waiting since the end of November for my order. Your car sounds great can't wait to see pics of the top down. Congratulations.

Sorry for the small pics guys. I can't figure out how to get the list to take a file larger than 146kb. Maybe it is a limit until I can log in as a regular member...I am waiting on my password from the office.

Is this the cab you saw at Champion? They say it's lowered with their designed lowering springs. I'm trying to get specs on this spring of theirs. They sent me this pic of a Basalt Black Cab to show me the lowered height, and after reading your post, I figured this is probably the one you saw.

Isn't it great, internet.

Had the same experience with two sales guys. I wasn't worth a look as I came in with my kids. And people with kids don't buy Porsches!!!
