Default Carbon Fiber

Went by local Dealer and a new Seal Grey cab with full grey leather had just arrived. It had the Carbon Fiber Pkg, this included the shift, brake handle, and dash strips, it looked great on the grey interior.

I've got carbon against grey leather on my Cayenne. Love the look. Not yet a 997 owner, but thinking about trading in the 996 cab.

It is the Porsche Carbon kit. I ordered it . . .was told it was unavailable . . . then it magically became available a couple of days before my order was finalized in Porsche's system . . . so I got it along with black guages instead of silver.

I almost went for maximum carbon on the interior on my S.

Then I started thinking, "this is ridiculous way to blow another $10K."

The heck with it. Oh well.

I have a thousand other things to blow the money on; better just to keep it invested.

Hahaha...yeah it is a slippery slope.

I suffer from leather-itis , took all restraint not to order leather center console, headliner, visors, vents, deviated stitching etc.

When you consider that the same full-interior pkg money could get you Sport Exhaust AND a full set of wheels with dedicated track or snow tires.... they make it tough on us.

I like it but it should cover more items. It would be nice if it replaced all the painted bits.

Don't worry, Porsche will eventually have more things covered in Carbon Fiber, they know how to release bits and pieces of "Upgrades" that so many of us just can't seem to do without. If any of you have sat in the new Carrera GT , then you have seen those great seats that have entire back in Carbon Fiber! Wonder what a pair of those go for?
