Baby Got New Shoes!
After months of waffling, I finally decided today and got my baby new shoes. Champion 19" RG5 Monolites, from Wheel Enhancement.
I was just about ready to go for the Ruf's (different look, but I like it), but the Ruf's are 28 lbs. versus under 20 for the Champions. That's a lot of extra unsprung weight and I decided to go for the weight savings. Champions are forged, very light, and very strong.
Here's a couple second rate pics, will post better when I have my good camera and clean my baby up for a photo shoot.

question about your rims....
Hi Jim, your wheels look stunning, I love those rims.
I'm wondering if you had any problems fitting them on your 997S?
I had 19" Champion RG19s on a 2002 C4S a few months ago and recently I traded in the car for a 997S. Before trading it in, I took off the RG19s hoping to put them on my 997S to replace the stock 19"s but Dave at WheelEnhancement.com told me that couldn't be done because the offsets are different between the two cars and I would have to purchase new rims?
Could you provide any insight into that for me whether this is true or not?
Thanks,
SY

SY - Thanks. I know the same wheels come in different offsets, so I suspect your C4S wheels simply don't have the right offset for the 997S. I saw Dave at WheelEnhancement today (and I've done business with them for a long time); they are straight shooters and if that what he says, then he is undoubtedly correct. You can check the offsets on the wheels (both RG19's and 997S wheels and compare), although I'm not sure that's all there is to it.

Great looking wheels and the answer is yes, the offsets ARE different between the 996 and 997. WHY they did this isn't clear but it sure reduced the number of wheels available for the 997! Glad to see the major guys are stepping up with such great designs!

I can't wait to see some more pics. I am still trying to decide which wheels to go with on my black launch car also. If you are thinking about lowering it, I just installed H&R springs and they work great. Lowered mine about .75 inches with the ride being just barely stiffer.
