Default How did your System Fault occur?

It would be very interesting to see how many people with the System Fault have had this happen after washing and/or waxing their car.

After I finished drying the car, I didn't drive it until the next day. I turned the ignition on to check the oil, and the System Fault appeared. I made an appointment with the dealer, they reset the system, Fault has not returned. That was 1 week, about 300 miles, and 2 washes ago. I am afraid it will return at any time.

i assume you didnt drive the car from the 9th to the 16th. i bet it happened as the car got wet when it was washed. i dont see how waxing the car would have anything to do with this electrical problem.

You are correct. No driving after the wash. Just started and pulled it in. No error at that point. But after the wax when I started it, the error popped up. -P

Well, I washed and dried the car with the hood closed, then I Zaino'd the car, then I wiped down the plastic inside the trunk and engine compartment with a damp chamois. I then went to check oil level and BLAMMO. I had NEVER checked the oil level just after a wash before.... hmmmmmmmm

I have washed it MANY times before, both at the car wash with high pressure and by hand. I have opened up the trunk while it was still wet before also....
