"If I were to guess, it would be Sport. It is most likely derived from the 'RS' variants (past and present) which stood for rennsport"

What does "Renn" stand for? Dictionary.com and Wikipedia don't list it. And a search on Google for "Renn" revealed fetish corsets on eBay.

Renn or Rennen is german for race. hence all sorts of porsche sites/names use it.

On a 993 it means "superfluous" since there is no difference between the 993 narrow body and wide body varient engine.
