Who cares about the 0 - 60 time anyway? What can it do 0 - 100 or 0 -120. The quarter mile stat looks kinda slow and at only 109 mph, we can guess that the 0 - 100 time would be high 11's at best. Not very impressive in my opinion. But that's what happens when you get overweight.

Riot, I know that you didn't ask, but my 2 cents are that Porsche is insulted by the entire comparison. GM pays through the pressure of its advertising. GM benefits just by the unspoken premise that it is legitimate to compare a GM plastic thingy to a Porsche 911... which I reject a priori. It is such a load of crap that I canceled my C&D subscription and I'm throwing the remaining issues in the trash unread like the "junk mail" it is.

I think that the reason for GM's push is that they priced themselves out of a big chuck of their target base market with this latest plastic thingy version and they are trying to grab some of us, Porsche buyers, to make up for it. I think that GM has gone insane what with the Fiat contract, the Saab purchase, and selling a Pontiac with the exact same motor as the C6.

We know our cars are as fast as a feather with a bottle rocket on it.

What's with the Corvette bashing? Let's see, its a BRAND NEW model that happened to be intro'd at the same time as the BRAND NEW 911 model. Both sports car with pedigree, looks like a pretty good comparison to me.

You don't think that Porsche has a PR machine also?

Kudos to GM for keeping the Vette alive.

Suit yourself, but you'll be looking along time for those four seats you need in the Vette... as the two cars are not comparible, and that is my opinion based on my experience. No bashing needed.

very true that 0-100 and say 50-100 would be better as they aren't as big a reflection of grip like 0-60. only problem is manufacturer advertising above 60 could land them in a frivilous lawsuit from buyers who crash them.

True! Especially here in Amereica where nothing is our fault and many like to blame someone else for their stupidity and bad luck. I am currently considering suing my ancestors because of my thinning hair. Have'nt decided whether to sue my mother's side or father's side.

The hair-longevity genes come from the mother's side. Hairwise, we get what our maternal grandfather got. Disclaimer: I learned this on the Discovery Channel.

Thanks, I'll let my lawyer know that. Will you testify to the fact that it is my mother's fault?
