It sure would be nice if no stability management and RWD was an option for those of us who know how to drive.

Also:

Number 1: Having no driver's aids on these cars would increase EVERYONE'S insurance rates.
Number 2: Having traction control gives the manufacturer a LARGER target customer base to sell to.

We only make up a tiny percentage of the buying community.
Last I checked, F430,Z06 , AMG 65s, C-GT have stabilty/yaw and or traction control. Some " hairy chest " cars like Viper don't by design . Active diffs will allow a RWD 997 Turbo withh all the electronic diapers like PSM and PASM, unlike the GT2 whose severe mechanical LSD precluded PSM yaw control.

much more probable numbers. btw, porsche's $20k "power kits" are pure BS.

cooz have reason. i don't think the future 997 turbo wille be pass beyond 125hp/1000cc, then:

with the 3.6 engine : nearly 450 hp
with the 3.8 engine : nearly 475 hp

For the hairy chested guys, wait for the 997 GT3, if it come to the US. I'd love a turbo 2WD though. And not the over priced GT2 either.

The point is there could be a 997 rear wheel drive Turbo retaining the rear seats , full boat comfort features , std susp and yaw control if the rumored active diffential like on the F430 is available to parcel out the power to the two remaining driven rear wheels . . The 996 GT2 turbo was a content delete , adj susp , with an aggressive mechanical LSD to help lay down the power but which did not allow fitment of yaw stability control....as a result , a lot of these " good " GT2 drivers went off the roads backwards as a result. Lots of crashed GT2 pics on the internet the past 3 years . I call it the "Dodge Viper he-man owner "effect - reportedly ,more than 10 % of those were crashed on the first drive home from the new car dealership when they came out more than a decade ago!

It's actually been discused for years on the major Viper boards that I used to read. Reportedly the very first cars were so prone to pendulous oversteer on full throttle in first gear roll ons ( never had traction control, never mind yaw control ) that it caught 10 % of owners by surprise and they hit something like the car in the next lane ,etc or worse on the way home. Maybe it's a chest thumping urban legend that they propagate to keep " posuers " out .

305 ( 305/ 30 - 19 = 26.2 " ) or 315 ( 315/30-19 = 26.5" )is what I predicted for the 997 Turbo .
The 997S rear tire( 295/30 -19 =26") and the entire 911 line has always had similar diameters within a half inch range.
The 335 rumor ( 335/25 -19 = 25.6 " - too short for such a heavy powerful car ) or (335 /30 -19 = 27 " - too tall ) didn't make sense from a rolling diameter /too low or too tall sidewall standpoint.

Looks like i will be 235/40 -19 fronts ( 26.43") and 315/30-19 rears ( 26.47")

I've just had a PDE in a Mk2 GT3...... nice car, but when driving home in the TTX50 I really noticed the acceleration difference it wasn't marginal it was alot quicker much to my surprise.
