Default Tire wear?

I have the 18 inch Continentals. Before I got my 997, all Porsche fans told me to expect 8,000 miles out of the rear tires...and a fortune to replace them.

How many miles should I expect? Cost? thanks.

JCF - Go to www.tirerack.com to price out your OEM tires. My 19" PS2's will run just over $1000.00 for all four, would assume yours are a bit less... here is what I came up with:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...peed_rating=ZR

and check your PMs' if you haven't already..

Considering you can't rotate the tires, probably can't expect high mileage on them, then again, it depends on how you drive it.
