I've looked high and low for an answer, but haven't seen anything definitive.

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

I just got back from a wine and cheese reception for the new Boxster at the local dealer. I asked the question about the C4. I was told that there will be both a C4 and C4S. The "S" designation is now just for the engine size (and other tweaks) -- both the C4 and C4S will have the same wide body (as is the case with the C2 and C2S.)

FYI, they also told me that the C2 and C2S Cabriolets have arrived at the port and will be in the dealer's showroom in about 2 weeks. I hope the weather is warm enough by then fo a proper test drive.

Anyway, I am just relaying what they told me. We'll have to wait for the official word from Porsche.

Cheers,

My dealer was guessing but surmized that the C4S would be more powerful than the C4, but no wider. He believed that a wide body would be offered in a couple of years time once TT production had levelled off and Porsche needed to squeeze a few more DM's out of the model before it would be replaced.

Seems perfectly logical and fits with the way they've handled the "S" on the Boxster.

The dealers will be the last to know on this.

But trust me, some interesting news from Porsche is right around the corner.

its just a matter of time.

I agree with Tom, you'll eventually see all of the 996 variants come alive in the 997, probably way sooner. Why wait?

I hope you're right... I've pretty much decided on a 993 C4S, but am excited to see what they do w/ the 997 version.
