Alloys for the new 911

These premium monoblock-wheels with their
striking TECHART 5-spoke-design grant a
dynamic look to the new 911. Due to the balanced
proportions between chassis and the size of the
wheel the new 911 appears even more powerful.

Our 5-Spoke-High-Tech-Wheel in 20".
The long swinging spokes allow a big opening
for the wheel house airing and a view to the brake
system.

There is no performance advantage to having huge 20" wheels with rubber bands for tires, they weigh too much and are impractical for normal use. People on the track still race with 18" wheels, bling doesn't make the car any faster. On a Cayenne, fine - slap on some 24s and cruise around like a rapper... But if I see a 997 with 20 inch wheels on the street, I instantly know that person is not interested in performance, only impressing people.

That said, yeah they look pretty cool.
and so what... some like performance and some like to bling...everyone to their own....dont hate the playa hate the game son....

I remember seeing mentioned in several magazines that, anything bigger than 18" kills a lot of feedback from the wheels. If I remember correctly, they go on to say "a serious driver should consider nothing bigger than 18" wheels".

I respect other's views on getting different size wheels, but I personally would not get anything than 18"s...

Yeah, I guess you have a point. I just don't understand why you'd buy a Porsche for 'bling'

You and I are of the same mind. Porsche has gone in that direction solely to attract the "bling" minded consumer, with performance taking a back seat to public tastes.

That is some funny sh**! I personally wouldn't go bigger than 19" on the 997.

From what I read/heard the 997 was designed for 18" and 19" wheels. Even the C6 Z06 will have 19"s in the rear.

Moving (finally!) onto forged one piece Otto Fuchs wheels (black centers) after sampling the two different versions--black center vice silver windmills.

Stuffing Michelin Pilot Super Sports onto them instead of my usual Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires.
