Default News from GHL on 997 Exhaust systems

For any interested I just got an email from Jeff at GHL Motorsports regarding availabilty of their custom 997(S) exhaust sytems.

"Thank you, for your interest in a GHL Motorsports stainless exhaust system. We are looking to be in production with the 997 by the end of Feb."

The site is: http://www.ghlmotorsports.com/

I'm in no way affiliated with GHL, just wanted to put the info out there..

Everyone on the 996 board speaks highly of GHL guys, so I'm looking forward to getting these. I really disliked the sound of the fabspeed exhausts, I had them on my 996 and took them off and sold them within the week of getting them, they sounded more like an corvette than a porsche.

I'm sure both are of excellent quality, it's good to have choices! I'm confused as to the systems themselves though. I assume you should replace the entire system, headers included, for best results? And what are the "bypass pipes" I keep hearing about and what does it take to install/use them (assume for track use?). I look at the pictures on the sites and (being a P-Car newbie) it doesn't help..

Maybe the slew of P-Books I just ordered from Amazon will help!

The bypass pipes replace the mufflers, loud. Great for the track.

But it's cup car loud, buy a set of ear plugs if your going to do that. It'll also be somewhat easier for the police to pick you out unless you plan to track it the car of course.

I've spotted a set of official 997 sport exhausts for sale on ebay germany, so it means that they should start shipping soon from germany to the US - I hope.

C4S - do you run with Metro or NNJR?
