No worries Zacharie... PSE is the ultra-sweet sounding Porsche Sports Exhaust. You're right no gain in performance but serious gain in exhaust sound.

My dealer put the Nav in afterward for free since they messed up my order. It took them about 3 hours to install. I have my car for over a year now and I used it three times. That's almost $500 per use if I had to pay for it. I would go for those portable one.

i received this quote just yesterday and was found it unbelievable.

i bought my 997S off the lot without a Nav and had it installed by the dealer.....they wanted to charge me about $3K but talked them down to about $2k or less fully installed....

I'm with you there. I wanted PSE and my wife was leaning towards NAV. Convinced her that we might always be lost but darn we'd sound good doing it! Needless to say, PSE installed 6 weeks ago and Nav is still on the back burner.

You can add Nav post production...The issue (at least here in NorCal) has been availability of the parts. They're back ordered and my dealer (Carlsen Porsche - highly recommended) is taking a list of interested...

I'd like to hear from other 997 owners how they like the factory navigation unit. I'm about to order a C4S and am undecided about the nav. The one in my 2004 Cayenne turbo is low-tech at best. I added a garmin to my other car and can't get over how superior it is to the Porsche factory unit in the Cayenne. Plus it has bluetooth for the phone, announces the street names and has an incredible number of POIs. How much has Porsche improved the navigation module?

Among the aftermarket Pioneer unit in my minivan, the one in my wife's Lexus RX and Porsche's, I prefer Pioneer's interface and the ability to enter phone number for address search.

i have seen better...i like the one in my infinity much better....and i think the aftermarkets give you a better system (more intuitive and easier to use), but there is something to say about getting the OEM equipment...so i accepted less for that...

I hear you. That's what makes a decision so difficult. Spend 2K for an inferior unit that is built in and maybe adds $500 to the resale vs. sticking a state-of-the-art Garmin on the windshield for $600.00.
