Default First Driving Impressions

Early driving impression compared to the 01. Car feels much tighter and more solid. Almost feels heavier, but in a good way (even though its not). Not nearly as harsh of a ride with the 18" wheels (same on 01) and I do not have the sport chrono or the PASM. Fit and finish in the interior is so much nicer, drives like a Porsche should but inside feels like we are in a Lexus. Standard seats much more comfortable than 01. Transmission (manual) shifts much cleaner and more precise (liked the shape of the 01 shifter better). Forgive me for saying this but the "creature comforts" like the cup holders, the rain sensing wipers, the automatic tilting of the outside mirror in reverse, and even the power outlet in the passenger foot well, make the car much more pleasurable getting from point to point when you are just out cruising.

I guess the best way to sum it all up is to say that with the 01 my wife would drive it if I asked, with the 05....well I can't get the keys out of her hands. Still trying to decide if this is a good or bad thing!

Congratulations George (and Sandy!). Hope the weather down there allows you to get a lot of miles on her! I snuck out yesterday for a couple hours of cruising, got home just as the snow started.. passenger footwell power? Hmmm, gotta look for that!

Gary - been out several times thanks. Yup suprised me too, on the side of the center console up under the dash on the passenger side is a cigarette lighter power outlet. Porsche is getting creative.

Cool, better place to plug in my Valentine 1 than between the seats!

Congratulations again on the Speed Yellow. I think the color looks great and the two of you appear very happy. Tell me how does the inside dash look? Is the interior black? Send some photos for all to see. I think the more color combinations people send the more help for those undecided. In any event I'm jealous. I have to wait until perhaps May or June to see my white Cabriolet. Get some protectant on the paint and enjoy. Thanks for the tip about the extra outlet. You're the first to mention this. Take Care and keep us posted on how the break-in period is going.
Best to you both, George and Sandi.
