Default picking up new 997

Tomorrow at around noon, I'm embarking on a 7 hour drive to Danvers, MA to pick up my Atlas/black C2 from Alfie at Ira Porsche. If all goes well, on Monday morning I'll be in the driver's seat to begin the drive back to central PA. Needless to say, it's gonna be a heck of a fun trip (assuming no snow). I'll try to post some pics when I get back.

Congratulations, the drive will, certainly, help towards the break-in miles. Enjoy it.

Congratulations! I have to wait until some time in March. My drive is 31 miles. I look forward to seeing pictures of the new car. It would be nice to see pics taken of the vehicle during it's maiden voyage.

So how did it go? I just got back from Miami but heard the weather up here was quite warm, hope your ride was uneventful. Any pictures?

Congratulations on the your new 997. I just ordered an 05' 997 -S white cabriolet with sport chrono package, that doesn't have a build date until April. The dealership said I will probably get it around end of May, beginning of June. Is your car manual or Tiptronic? What do you think about the Tiptronic? This is the version I ordered. In any event let me know how it drove during the trip home. This will be my first Porsche of any type. I hope all goes well with my order. Take care and good luck.

DJ23: See my posts under C2 arrives home and dirt/atlas grey/black C2. My car is a manual, which works well for our purposes. It's my wife's daily driver (except in snow or ice) and she's been driving a manual since I taught her on my '78 Alfa spider when we started dating. Also, since my everyday car is an auto (E500 wagon), I like having a stick around for fun weekend driving. That being said, I had a tip in my previous wagon (Audi S6) and liked it very much. Mostly left it in auto mode, but sometimes would run through the gears using the steering wheel buttons.
