Read Topic 1 for the background story. Short version; rented a 997S, curbed/potholed the passenger rear wheel.
Damage is about 1 to 1 1/2 inches long. Slight scalloping of the wheel edge.
Any thoughts from the Pros as to
(1) is this reasonably repairable? If so what is involved and at what cost?
If not,
Whats the current price for stock 997S rear wheel from Porsche Dealer in US, or eBay?
Still waiting on the renter agents reply, so I thought Id be fore warned in case its um, spendy....
Regards, and I´d do it all over again in a heart-beat,

That sounds about right for repair. That assumes, of course, that the wheel wasn't bent in the process. I think a new wheel at list is something like $600 (that was for turbo look, but probably similar), at dealer list price.

do you have someone like these guys in your area:
http://www.jsalloy.com/contact.html
but now I see your first post, this was damaged in germany? how are you going to get the rental agency to agree to have the wheel fixed in the US?

I'm not. I'm gathering information for an eventual negotiation. Right now the current ultimate defensive line is that I can get (a wheel manufactured in germany) from the US shipped to germany for $1000. approx 600 Euros at the current exchange rate. If the rental guy gets uppity and demands more than this I have a fall back position.
Thank you all, Now that its day light in Germany I'll start to pursue my options on this side of the ocean.

Did you pay the rental with your credit card? My American Express card comes with automatic insurance when I rent cars. You may want to contact your credit card company.
EDIT: Check with your US car insurance company too. Your coverage might extend to rental cars (I'm not sure about overseas coverage though.)
Best of luck,
