Default First oil change?

What is the general consensus on changing out the original oil/filter? Manual states 20K unless less than optimal fuel or running conditions. I'm thinking I want all the initial contaminants out of there a lot sooner than that, more like 3K. I'm sure the lubrication properties of the new Supersyn Mobil 1 can hold up to higher mileage but I find it hard to believe its good to wait so long.

Thanks!

Changing oil at 3k won't hurt. If you feel the need to do it, just do it. There's no harm. Also think about changing the filter.

I'm planning to have the oil and filter changed at 2-3,000 miles, before I start going over 4,500 RPM.

Always followed the mainual to the letter with all of my Porsches. I'm not going to change unless I start doing a lot of track time. The darn dash chronometer keeps staring me in the face.
