Default 997 S wheels - a trivial observation

I had my 997 S for more than a month and I just noticed that the shape of the front and rear wheels are different(other than the width). The front wheels(I guess to clear the brake calipers) have spokes that are rounded and protrudes outward and have a more complex shape. The rear wheel spokes are basically flat and has a simpler and more streamlined appearance. Can anyone post comparison pictures? My personal preference is for the front wheels as the shape is more intricate and interesting. I never noticed this difference between the front and rear wheels on the previous 996tt I owned. Were they the same?

You're not alone in noticing this. It's most apparent in 3/4 views where the front wheels look convex and rear wheels look concave:

It can drive you a bit crazy if you have driven earlier Porsches that don't have this sort of effect. I'm not really sure if the wheel centers are different, or if it is simply the offset of the rim that is causing it to look like that. If I had the heart to go near my car I'd check them out, but at this point I don't particularly care what they look like.

Its probably rubbing salt into the wound at this stage Skip, but boy that's a beautiful car (both of them, but paticularly the 997)

All the best.

Thats how this wheel application is made like many others in order to clear front brakes and keep offsets correct.

The same appears for the 18" wheels.
