I drove a 997 last night and it is much stiffer and the steering is very , very light....It did not seem any faster than an 04 C2...Body roll and interior quality is up but not speed.....
I see what the 993 people talk about now when comparing the 996 to their 993's....

Why are so many 996 owners so sensitive about the 997? The fact is both the 997 and 997S are selling well. In fact, the last month PCNA reported numbers for the two, both had almost the same sales numbers. The Porsche online inventory is highly inaccurate. I got to preview the Porsche website this last week (got $200 for it not bad for 45 minutes of work!) and my first complaint was how inaccurate it was. If you see the same two cars at a dealership, just maybe, they are the pool cars for demos and test rides. Would you really want to buy a used car that they are selling for MSRP? And the price for them start at $70K for the 997 and $80K for the 997S, not $100K. $100K was for only one type of launch car, the triple black beauty with the ceramic brakes.
