Default First Porsche

I just got my first Porsche a couple of weeks ago and this is my first post. I wanted to order my first car but after going to the dealer and driving the 997 I couldn't wait to have one so I bought the one on the showroom floor. I've been reading the posts about all the issue people are having so I was a little leary but when I drove it I just had to have one. So far the only minor issues. I had a frayed serpintine belt, no cigarette lighter, and the passanger vanity mirror is scratched. The dealer fixed it all with one visit, unfortuantely I had to have it towed because of the belt. They fixed it all and gave me a full detail for free to make up for the issue.
Love driving the car and can't wait to get past the break in period.

Congratulations! Just out of curiosity, how did you know you had a frayed serpentine belt?

Congratulations and welcome to the club!....
Everyday will get even better...

Drive the heck out of it and don't turn in into a garage queen... Your mind and senses will thank you for that.
And post pics, pics pics!

Cheers.

My neighbor came over and asked to see the engine. I was more then happy to show him. By some stroke of luck the frayed section was right on top. It was only about 2 inches long, so had the belt not been in that exact position I would not have known until it broke. I was pretty lucky. I asked the dealer about it and he said it was a fluke. Hopefully that's the truth. The car runs fantastic and is a blast to drive.

Not sure if this will work but here is a picture. It's not the best but really the only one I have at my office.
