i left my uk ordered S on the standard wheels as they make the car distinct and look really good in the flesh.

the 5 spokes are not as nice as those fitted to the 996 face lift cars, not as sharp in profile and on 18"s and standard suspension the standard car looks much less dynamic.

thats in the end what made me change from a standard carrera to an S, as I was looking at more than £2.2k for the 19" rims and the sports suspension, which are both standard on the S.

Daft thing is that the carrera I ordered was looking like £63k worth, whilst the S ended up at 67k which is pretty close to list price thanks to the spec.

I have the 19 inch stock wheels and they have really grown on me.

When I ordered my 997 S (Dec Build). I rushed back in a panic the next day to change the wheels feeling that I had made a big mistake. Then I saw a guy picking up his seal gray 997 S with the standard wheels on it. These wheels may not be for everyone but I'll tell you on a Seal Gray car the look GREAT! Totally changed my mind on the spot. With that said I have yet to see them on another color car but they sure looked good on the on I saw that night.

Let me just state frankly... the 19" Lobster Claw is just plain ugly. I am sorry, but it will be the classic wheel for me on delivery and then I am marching right back to Antera again for some 19" stemless 309's

In my opinion there is not a prettier wheel made for the 911.

I hated the S wheels in the spy pics but now I like them a lot. Last night I was skimming through wheels on the Wheel Enhancement website, and I couldn't get that excited about replacing the standard S wheels (apart from the fact that I'm tapped out for now!). Here's mine:

I think that the newer ones are much nicer than the 996 ones. These new ones have an offset different from the originals, otherwise I'd get them for my car.

To each his own, but I don't think that these Anteras evoke a sense of performance like Fikse or BBS do.

HUH???? Ewwwwwwwww. Yer kidding right! Those new wheels are fugly, especially the LC's.

Sorry jcnesq, but dude those wheels are thrash'n my eye's man! I just think Porsche could have done SOOOOO much better. They look they belong on the Cayenne and not the 997 or perhaps even a... Hyundai.

Seriously, I think the new 5-spokes (I think they're called Carrera II) are nicer. I like their chiseled look. I like the original 5-spokes too, but these are a bit more aggressive looking. As for the new standard 19" wheels, I think they're absolutely hideous and will be a pain to keep clean.

Like I said, I thought they looked terrible in the spy pics, but for whatever reason I continue to like them. I got my 04 Targa with turbo looks, and started to hate them (probably liked them at one time in the past), and put BBS's on a few weeks before I lost my mind and traded it for the 997S. But I love the 997S so much that I may just like the wheels because they "say" 997S. Each for his own.

The best would be if I could afford to change my wheels every couple of months. There are so many nice wheels that I'd love to see on my car that it's hard to settle.

I originally ordered my car with the Classics but was told that they were not yet available so instead I purchased them after the fact and could not be happier with my decision.

Those wheels are beautiful! I thought they were called 'Carrera II' though.

Yea I guess yer right, to each his own, Fiske and BBS do not inspire a sense of performance or aesthetics for me either. So, I guess I am sticking to the classic wheel on delivery and then I am marching right back to Antera again for some 19" stemless 309's. There are some HRE's and Champions MS that I dig but only Antera does stemless wheels and I really like that (I also dig their two piece stemless Type 321).
