Default Carrera 997 Clear Side Markers

There are Porsche Carrera 997 Clear Side Markers s 911 smoked in eBay now for 28.95 a pair. See Item number: 7932891392. Great deal! Dealer had these lights on a new 997 and added more then 300.00 to the price.

dealers sell them for about that price too... no dealer would sell them for 300. shameless self promotion.

I picked up a new oem pair still in Porsche packaging for $20 on Ebay...My dealer offered to install a set when I pick up the car for "about $180"...I second what Moogle said.

I heard one of the SoCal dealers showed clear side markers as a $300 option. What a joke! That dealer is now permanently in my memory as one to avoid. As most of you know, its a 7-10 minute self install of a $25 part.

Why not support Rennlist Sponsors and buy from them? They are helping these forums to stay free of charge.

I'll second Viken on this! I got mine from a friendly rennlist sponsor in Belgium, along with colored center caps. The amber lens and monochrome center caps are really out of place on the 997, making me think of 1984 instead of 2004.

How do you install the side markers? Do they just clip out, or are they held in place with a screw? TIA.

And what about installation on the center caps? How do you get the B&W caps out?

JasonF: The instructions are in the owner's manual (you have to remove them to change bulbs). Sometimes they will just pop out if you pull from the wheel side, but there is a hole in the wheel well to insert a screw driver to loosen the spring clip and its safer to do it that way (again, see owner's manual for details).
