Race Car
Quite amusing thread, I drove the 997S and its a great everyday car, much refined as far as being SOFT in feel, I much prefer a GT version of a 996 anyday, and thats an opinion, we all them.

Since everything in life is relative, I don't think a statement such as "996 is inferior to the 997" is not valid, looks are too dam relative to say one is better than the other. I love the way my Targa looks in comparison to the 997, I parked my car side by side next to a 997, many during my time talking to the dealer regarding the 997s, more people were looking at my Targa then the 997 and two gentlemen ask "how much for that beautiful Targa". My son I test drove both the 997 and S - the 997 provided no superior handling over my Targa, but the S was night and day. As for the V1, I've had mine for three years, without one ticket - in my area Ka is used mostly, so I am safe.
