I have to say that I agree with those preferring the 996 over the 997. I considered swapping my 03 C2 into the 997 C2S, but prefer the 996 front end (i.e. headlights).

I also find the interior of the 997 too "busy", and that clock on the dash is an abomination! I would definitely want the other features of the Sport Chrono package, but that clock is something straight out of Toyota.

Generally, I think the Germans are getting too radical design wise - what happened to Teutonic style? I can't stand the new BMWs, exterior OR interior - materials have been cheapened. Audi is going to a vagina grill (Edsel?). Mercedes has the CLS.

Isn't it nice to have some junior (997man) come onto this website gushing with youthful enthusiasm. I'm sure we can all learn a great deal from him. I would love to see the Bell mounted in his 997 - got pics 997man?

I'd love to see the 997 man get trashed by my buddy's 993 turbo or my piddly old 996 GT3. The thing that is sad is that Porsche is truly suceeding the their marketing....if it aint brand new its old news.....guess thats why they are making so much money!

I bet those unfortunate 996 Turbo, GT3 and GT2 owners are lining up to dump them for a 997 right now.

Those of you who don't want your V1 anymore, let me know. I need one for my Audi. Since they are junk, how does $50 sound?

ok, I think 1MB picture files are to large to attach here so the 1st set is downloaded on yahoo........Try http://profiles.yahoo.com/obsolete996 and click on cool link1 to get into photo album...I will add daylites this week.......By the way,...I heard 997s with natural grey leather (as in the 996 40th SAEd. interior) rattle less than other cars because the leather is thicker , has a lower natural frequeny and deadens the noise.

Looking forward to some daytime pictures. See if you can improve on the resolution on those pictures , the pictures on yahoo were pretty poor quality. I have to say that artic silver with the natural gray is a nice combination. That was my choice too..
