997s coming in 2 wks; sport chrono pkg y/n??
pulled the trigger on a new 997s coming in 2 wks that another buyer had to pass on. been missing my 84 carrera since i was forced to sell it in 89 and couldn't wait anymore...the new one has everything i would have ordered but the sport chrono package. i'm not going to race it on the track but what am i giving up by not having it and should i tell the dealer to install or is this a factory only option due to the wiring? thanks for the help...

from what i hear, the sport chrono's lap timer function is about useless,
the thing is, your missing out on the 'sport button' - which i hear is VERY useful and cool, tightens up the suspension, loosens up the PSM slip angles, and drastically increases throttle response...
worth gettign just for that feature.
oh well too late, but its still a great car

thanks for the feedback. i had a similar button on a 735i bmw i used to own and i recall the extra kick and repsponsiveness it used to have. sounds like this is similar. may have to see if the dealer can add it. supposedly it's on a boat somewhere now.
