Default Collapsible spare option?

I was flipping through the 997 info book and Porsche had some wonderful pics of the 997 with a roof rack and cargo carrier and one against a beautiful mountain backdrop.

So I start thinking about how nice it would be to have a spare tire out in the middle of BFE.

Wouldn't the C4S collapsible spare fit the 997 with 18s? What about with 19s?

There seems to be plenty of room up front for the "addition" of a collapsible spare. Porsche should make an optional spare available.

Cheers

I think I remember reading in a European magazine that there is (or will be) one.

The bigger problem is...with a collapsible spare mounted, what will you do with that giant 295/30-19 flat out there in BFE, if you happen to have a passenger and/or other stuff?

Touche- I have wondered about that in my TT roadster- and it on only has 225/40 r18s on it- won't fit in the trunk, so then what?

I've transported my 285/30/18 twice behind the passenger seat. There's room... barely.

Gear and passenger will still fit. Just like in the old VW days of crammin' it in!

The thought of having a blowout in a $100K 997 with no spare is a bit disturbing. With all that engineering, they should have made a spare as an available option.
