BTW, love to have your GT3! For the price of a 997 S, I can get a brand new GT3, which I am considering. Is your GT3 what you hoped it would be?
if you want a great track car get the GT3, if you want a great street car you can take to the track once an awhile and not be too serious, get a 997S
i love the GT3 but i am serious about the track..i dont drive the street much at all.

I drove a friend's GT3 a couple of weeks ago.

If you are serious about tracking, you probably can't find a better car.

The GT3 is liveable for the street (although you'll do without sunroof) and a monster on the track. Those people who complain that Porsche "doesn't build 'em like they used to" need to get behind the wheel of a GT3.

Longtime lurker so my post will probably go unheeded. I've never owned a 911 nor have I driven one so my frame of reference is entirely out of context but I saw the 997 this past weekend. I think there are more gizmos than are needed (the center track thinga ma jiggy--well, what is this? a S281 Saleen?) Besides that tacked on center pod, I loved it. I think it combines the 993 with the 996, in my eyes. I thought the interior was quite nice. 'Course, like I said, I have no context coming from a 328i and a V8 Touareg.

A guy from SC had just bought one, and right outta the lot, he mats it. I think I'll take on in white thank you. ; )

I saw a 997S last friday and was unimpressed as well. It looked like a 996 C4S with round headlights. Just too similar to the 996. If one blew by you on the freeway you wouldn't be able to tell.

I'm waiting for the 997 Turbo. The sales guy said it would be wider than the current car as would the C4S version of the 997.

The 996 Turbo's not bad looking. Much better than the regular version. I'm hoping this is also true of the 997.

I went to the event yesterday, and saw 4 new 997. It looks just fine... no "WOW" factor for sure. It looks like an updated 993. Those chromed headlight washer is just plain ugly. The interior is nice, especially with the navigation package. The steering wheel is kinda weird looking and big for the 997, but fine for the cayenne. Those massive 19" are nice except those weird looking rims. $5000 markup for a 997, not bad at all.

I think I still like my c4s.

Wasn't impressed either. I'll keep my 99 with all the mods.
