Default Passenger Thorax Airbag Code - 801c

All,

The Passenger’s Thorax Airbag code 801c is not a super common code on the 997.2, but it is common enough that a Porsche Service Bulletin was created.

To fix this issue you must replace the passenger thorax airbag seat wire harness, 997.612.686.01. Some will tell you to replace the seatbelt buckle and while I did that it did not fix the issue permanently. As of this post the wire harness was about $125 from the dealer and is the only option. Note that the wire harness I had did NOT roll a revision so yours might not either. You will need to remove and disassemble quite a bit of the seat, but it is not difficult, but will take a couple hours to do it right. You will need standard tools and some standard torx bits is all. Note the attached pdf also will help with many other codes too.

I will attach all the documents I found and hopefully someone will find this useful. The following link is a good video of what is entailed in pulling the seat apart.

This is the 801c error code I kept getting.
