Does anyone know what the first confirmed delivery date is?

Any idea when we might actually be able to drive one of these things at local dealers? Would love to do some back to back testing between standard, S, GT3, and current 996/GT3.

Interestingly, many SoCal dealers are now showing 997's "in stock" on the Porsche website. I wonder if PCNA will tightly control the release until August 28th, or whether they might start some deliveries to dealers earlier. When I bought my 97 Targa, the dealer had obtained it 2-3 weeks before any other SoCal dealers had 97 models (they said because they told PCNA they had special ordered it for a customer and needed it early). (I was shopping for 96 closeout deals but when I saw the 97 Targa I had to have it.)

I see that some dealers have listed the cars but they are all Porsche file photos so I am assuming that they cars are not yet at the dealers. My car should arrive some time around the middle of September. The August 28th cars are supposed to be the launch vehicles and will have ceramic brakes and will be priced in the upper 90's.

For some reason, you have to search for all inventory and just searching 911's doesn't bring them up. Auto Gallery has MSRP's. I don't think these cars are on the lots yet but probably just expected soon, but they do list the VIN numbers and options.
Not all the S's shown have ceramic brakes. Also someone posted that the launch vehicles were all the same color (with ceramics) but that doesn't seem to be the case. Auto Gallery has listed a bunch of S's without ceramics and MSRP's around low 90's.

And yet my dealer claims not to have final option prices, and says PAG has thus far "accepted" my order, but has sent back no specific confirmation. I'm told the car will be a Sept. build, though.

My dealer said yesterday mine had arrived at the port. Porsche NA has not released the cars yet for delivery. He anticipated 2-3 weeks until i get mine. He suspects release will be after the official launch next Saturday.
