Default Oil Level

My Targa 4 997 has a small oil leak, I've put in about 1L in 12 months (passed it's MOT with it recently). I ran the oil level check, and it was on the lowest level and flashing, so I put 1L in it. Ran the check, and it came up as lowest level, but thought not much of it as the car was on a slope. Came to work this morning, 30 miles, and it's flashing at me again. Obviously don't want to overfill, and there was no great puddle under the car this morning, so I don't think it's come straight out. Faulty oil level sensor maybe?

Thoughts and opinions are much appreciated.

I think you're going to have to do an oil change or at least an oil drain into a clean container so you'll be able to correlate your known quantity refill amount with the sensor/gage reading to judge if that's defective. Aim low on the initial refill quantity and then add measured amounts that correlate with the ticks on the dash gage to get to your desired final level.
