Have an 08C2S and all of a sudden I cannot adjust the outside mirror on the right hand side. When I turn the inside **** to the left side, I can adjust that mirror but when I turn it all the way to the right the right side mirror will not move. As a side note, when I tried to adjust the mirror, it almost looked like it was stuck in the downward mode when putting the manual gearshift in to reverse. Suggestions on where to start? Thanks in advance. BTW, does anyone know which fuse number controls these mirrors and I could check that first. I do know however that if it’s a fuse that could indicate another problem.
I unfortunately don’t have a solution for you, but related to this, is there a way to lubricate the adjustment mechanism in the mirror? Mine is still working, but it jutters and complains when I put it in reverse with the adjuster to the right. I suspect that if I don’t clean and lubricate it soon it’s going to break and require replacement. Hopefully that’s not the case with yours. I’d start with the fuse panel and maybe test the wiring to make sure the mirror motors are getting power.
Can’t imagine how a fuse wouldn’t affect both mirror but anyway. I had to fix mine a while back because I broke it reversing. Could be just the plug is loose. If I find my thread I’ll link it.
It sounds like the mirror motor has failed in one case and is on the way to failure in the other. The mirror pops free from the motor with a trim tool, but caused me some anxiety because of the force involved to get it done. My mirror did not break but I understand it can happen. If memory serves, the motor is held in with a couple screws and the electrical is the typical plug.
DC was out of stock so I purchased a new one from the dealer for about $175. Aside from the price, I tried replacing it today. Got the mirror and motor off within minutes. Went to install the new motor and noticed it’s a 3 pin connection while my old motor is 7 pin. I compared numbers on both motors and they seem the same (997-624-047-01 7E4adjuster). Either I don’t know what I’m doing or the dealer gave me the wrong motor. I did notice a number also on the back of the new motor HEAT0057K 22 and on my old motor HEAT0057K 21. Don’t know what these numbers mean though and if the 21 and 22 indicate a difference. Suggestion?
