Default PCCM+ Amp

Questions for the audio experts here. Does the PCCM+ use the existing Amp in the frunk? I have a Bose PCM on my '06 997 and the Amp is acting up - again, I already changed it once when it failed.

I am interested in the PCCM+ but if the existing Amp is needed it would be no-go.

Thanks in advance ...

Yes, any speakers currently powered by the car’s external amp will continue to be. With that being said, there are a few shops that repair those amps for pretty cheap. I paid $150ish for Bergvill FX to fix mine, with shipping.

I put a full aftermarket system in my 2006 997.1. I have my amp which works if someone is looking for one. It worked fine but with an aftermarket deck you could not control the fader with the bose system. Pm me if interested.

Bruce, if you can work on a Porsche body and engine, you can work on the Bose amp.
Realizing that you are just throwing parts at the amp, use a heat gun to remove the suspect IC or cut the pins off it with a Dremel or snips (if you haven't already removed it).

You can repair the damaged traces using wire-wrap wire (or enameled wire) by using an ohmmeter to find where the traces go and then solder a wire jumper to bypass the damage.
If you lifted a pad on the board, then use the wire-wrap or enamel wire soldered to the IC lead and wherever the other end of the trace goes.

Good luck, I don't think you have anything to lose at this point.

Try some DVDs of concerts.

I have a nice library of concerts... I guess I purchased all of them way before streaming became popular.

Peace
