Hi all -
I’ve searched for this on the forum, and am not having luck using the 30 second ignition reset procedure some recommended.
Dead battery in my 2009 Carrera last week. Picked up a new OEM battery at the Porsche dealer today, installed and car started for a quick moment then shut off. Car would not restart. I’ve disconnected the negative cable for over 10 minutes and reattempted and car will just not turn over. Is there anything else to do? Just trying to avoid a tow to the dealer. Thanks.

First, the obvious but is the new battery fully charged and are the cables tight making good contact? My next thought is the alternator. A new battery should be pretty much plug and play in a 2009. Also, for future reference, it sounds like the dealer sold you an original lead acid battery but there are much, much better options these days such as an H7 AGM battery that can be had at any auto parts or plain old box store for $150-200.

Thank you both for the responses!
Here’s a weird one…I was checking the fuses and found D1 (Fuel Pump) blown. Replaced and car started right away. Test drive cleared all normal new battery codes, shut off car, tested with a restart and now the car is back in the garage. Unsure why that fuse was blown, but we have a working Carrera again.
