They do work very well, I'm not understanding XLR8 says that you have to be within 12ft of the Car, perhaps on his Car, and I don't know what Battery Monitor product he bought since there are a few out there.
I bought the BM2 a couple of years ago. They are on Amazon and other outlets. It is probably a Bluetooth 3.0 and the specified range is 10 meters or 33 feet. Of course that is if you are within clear sight of the module and that is never the case because these battery voltage modules are mounted at the battery under a hood so that greatly cuts down on range. Steel hoods, walls, etc cut down on range.
I just remove it on my daily driver as it is useless for what I wanted it for. I do not need to see the battery voltage if I am standing next to the vehicle...I might as well pop the hood and use my DMM.
Here it is. Mine shows a 1mA and this one shows a 1.5mA draw. Could be due to a BT4.0.
