What a nice , open feeling one has in that car vs the sunroof ! I wonder how hot it would get in the summer with all that glass?
The summers in DC can be brutal but, honestly, it has NEVER been a problem in my Targa. The Targa far exceeded my expectations when I bought it.

The Targa Glass panel is VU rate D13 - and it also has the VU sun shade with blocks 97% of the UV rays. I have parked my car in 100 degree sunny days, I never felt the car was over hot, not at all. If I could get my 08 TT with a Glass Panel I WOULD ! I truly love it. Enjoy amigo...

This is good to know. That means no need for suntan lotion when the glass roof is closed!

My very first drive in my new ride was in 100 degree weather. I felt fine, but I was wearing shorts and light T-shirt. I don't wear a suit much, but the thought of wearing a full suit in 100 degree weather is a bit scary!

FYI

I just bought my 07 997 Targa 4S last Monday. Drove it cross country from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale in 4 days. Saw the most beautiful scenery come by. And with the glass roof it is like being in a Fish Bowl, A F16 Canopy view. What a dream come true on this car and this trip. The car is built for these kind of trips. 3600 miles later I got out and felt like I could drive back the next day.
I am very happy with the Targa and the 997 solution of the roof in particular.

It's interesting when an old thread comes to light again--and how so many people were WRONG.
