Child sitting in front seat question.

Doesn ‘t the 997.2 have the passenger weight sensor to automatically disable the airbags if a lighter occupant is in that seat? I thought this was standard as of the 2006 997.
The laws are different depending on where you are, but my local regulations «recommend » that kids under 12, don’t sit in the front. However, my understanding is also that the factory LATCH / ISOFIX kit for installing a child car seat installed in the front passenger seat which would suggest that the car is designed to have kids up front.
FWIW - my 10 yr old who is 4ft. 6 routinely sits up front with me.

It's not just the airbag that's the issue (which were designed with adults in mind), but also height for proper seatbelt fit. Here are a couple links for further reading:Of course, you can only make the best judgement for yourself based on age/weight/height/maturity of your own child, but I personally err on the side of caution with my kids because I've seen how everyone else drives...and they're the real concern.
