BMW guy here till they started making boring cars in the mid 2000s. Porsche is a logical evolutionary step. Unfortunately after the 997.2 they too went a bit piggly so now I have no idea what the next step is. I am on a waitlist for a Golf R.

I have a 997.1 Porsche and my wife wanted a 2019 VW Alltrack, manual with no sunroof! Found one in white at Paramount VW/ Porsche in Hickory ,NC. 2019 was the last year of the Alltrack in the USA.

I looked at allroads, an x3M, glc300 amg, macan, Mazda c30, x3m40i, even a kona n. Already have a GTI so figured why not upgrade the beater to an R but I might still feel bad having a new R as a ‘beater’ but it’s good to have at least 1 car under warranty.

Although the transaction has not yet closed, I am in the process of purchasing a really special .1.

I went back and fourth on the .1 vs .2, and ultimately decided a really well sorted and dialed .1, with all the options I wanted (and even some more that I didn’t know I wanted), was the way to go! The service history, provenance, and prior owner make this car really special.

Cant wait to be a part of this community - more info forthcoming!

Like I mentioned above, I recently took delivery of a really clean and well sorted 2008 997.1 C4S. I bought it from a well known member of this site.

I am loving the car so far, and smile every time I see it in the garage, and am absolutely having a blast driving it. The PPI w/ bore inspection came out very good, and the cosmetic condition is even better in person.

Nuisance interior rattles are the bane of my existence, and I want to track down 2 I have noticed so far. One is coming from the passenger seat area but can not tell if it is the seat, the belt area, or the back seat - any advice would be appreciated, but it seems like it will be easy to rectify.

Secondly, I have a rather annoying interior ‘buzz’ that I get when driving on imperfect roads. The car has a passport radar detector that I am going to have removed, and I wonder if it is an unsecured wire the is resonating, but any other suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.
