Ac help
Hello all
I'm having some issues with my air conditioner.. Last year I had a shop drop the engine to do my coolant line pinning. Got the car back in October and didn't really use the air conditioning till this spring.. When I tried it I didn't have any cold air coming out. The shop had a couple items to do on my car so I asked them to check the ac as it hasn't worked since the engine was dropped.. They charged it up and all was good.. Car sat while I was out of town on a business trip for 2 or 3 weeks. Came home and took it out and again I had no cold air coming out. I have charged a few systems (I have r134a, gauges, scales, ect but I don't have a machine to reclaim so I only fill empty systems). I hooked my gauges up and saw about 50psi on the low side and nothing that was reading on the high pressure side. Fired the car up and turned on the ac and the high pressure side showed about 100psi (seems low) and also the low side now showed about 70psi.. I also noticed the high pressure side was getting quite warm.. I left the car running for about 10-15 minutes and the pressures didn't seem to change much. I tried to hookup my PIWIS but couldn't get it connected for some reason so I pulled out my autel unit and looked at the ac data and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I'm wondering if the pressure switch might be on its way out or maybe my compressor?
Car is a MY09 turbo.
Anyone have any ideas where to start or what to look into?
I know the system should take 850gr of r134a but does anyone know what pressures I should be seeing on the high pressure system? As well what could be causing this issue besides a bad compressor (I doubt this as it did work prefect after the shop refilled). Maybe a failing pressure switch or something?

I don't know the answers to any of your questions but I just went through a "no cold" AC - except I had no pressure.
The pressure switch is cheap (if you go Non-OEM Porsche) and it appears to have been my problem. I swapped it out and refilled and everything is fine now after a couple of weeks.

I recently had a problem and the pressure switch and dryer were replaced. The pressure switch failed reading "high" so my fans were staying on. Perhaps there's a failure mode where the pressure switch fails and also slowly leaks refrigerant... After the replacements, my tech put dye in the system and could not find a leak.
