Reduced Oil Consumption after oil change
Hi Rennlisters,
I am experiencing something weird. I did the oil change recently - no overfill, nice 3 bars. Before the oil change, my 997 consumed about 0.7l (2 bars on the oil meter) of oil per 1000km. After the change, I drove 800km already and so far, I am still at 3 bars on the oil meter. This is a first time oil change since I bought the car. I am just curious - is it possible that something changed (new oil, different oil, different oil filter, ...) that could cause this drop in consumption? It is still pretty early to say with confidence that the consumption is lower, but I am just curious if there would be some explanation.
Thanks champs for any thoughts!

What year? .2 models have a different sensor. My .2 sensor is very small and is wonky, particularly on filling all the way up. No consistency on burn nor readings.... I should say little consistency. For my car, I could not count on it for much other than an average over a few reads let alone assumptions about engine use.
Peace
