Got it, thanks. And if I wanted to just get rid of the DVD player entirely can I remove both of these that I circled? Not sure what the one on the left is.
2008 911 c4s… I had a mouse problem and I’m taking apart the front bay. What is this and how to I get those metal clips off??
I was just in there last weekend replacing the leak detection pump which is inside that box. You don't want to open it up as there's no way a rodent could have gotten inside it and the clips are a PITA unless the box is out of the car.
The top triangular bracket has a screw that is accessed from the other side of the metal wall it's up against. After removing it there are two plastic tabs that fit into holes in the metal wall. If you put a wedge between the bracket and the wall you can pop them out. Once they are out you can take the bracket off and move the box around some to clean in that area if needed.
The box itself has two hoses connected to the bottom that are difficult to remove due to limited access. I wouldn't take it out unless you really need to do it.
Edit: Don't forget to hook that harness back up or you'll get a P1482 error (speaking from experience).

That is for navigation. I’d check to see how it’s connected into the pcm. I removed my cd changer and replaced it w/ a bluetooth unit and had to ensure the optical connections were done correctly to bypass the cd changer. Not sure if the nab unit is on the same optical loop (MOST) or if it is only used for the audio components.
