Default Drivers side window

The driver side window on my 997.1 Coupe is stuck in the 1/3 open position. When I activate the switch the window will go up or down approximately 1/2”, but no further. I removed the door panel and window motor, reattached the power wires and activated the switch again with the same result - the motor runs for a split second in either direction and then stops. The gears on the regulator look good. So I have power to the switch, power from the switch to the motor, and a regulator that appears in good shape. I attempted the window reset process but holding the switch for 10 to 20 seconds has no effect. Anyone encounter this problem before and know a solution?

BTW - The passenger window works perfectly.

Have you tried the window reset procedure in your owners manual?

How about unplugging the battery for 15-20 mins?

Did you every find a solution to this? My window is in the same situation. Half inch up, half inch down.

This ended up being an indication that the regulator was bad - the window completed failed soon after I posted this message. I replaced the regulator (a PITA job, but I did it) and all is now well.
