Very very fast. Sometimes the 20 minute doors are fine, sometimes they are not.

you can do them but have to box them properly (I think) but these days those puck LEDs would work just as well with a junction box instead of a hole. Don’t ask me why a junction box is ok but I guess they draw the line somewhere.

I believe its oxygen intake. closed off at the J box but (fire) the soffit contains too much oxygen (above the recessed lighting void). Just an assumption.
