I took my car to this local shop (recommended to me by another local 997 owner) to get a Gundo Hack done, he charged me $250 total (with taking off mufflers and reinstall), 2 Porsche Indy shops quoted me $800-$1000.

The shop owner was really cool/nice...while it was on the lift, he threw on my top gear center muffler bypass as well, I was planning on doing it myself but he insisted since it was going on the lift anyway and he was already taking the muffler off.

Not only that, I happened to have my new FF engine mounts in the car, we ended up doing that too, he hadn't done 997 engine mounts before, but it was pretty easy and he allowed me to help out since I've done that before on my old 911. I was quoted around $1000 to do this as well at a Porsche Indy in the past.

All in all, I paid $400 to get gundo hack done/installed, center muffler bypass installed, and motor mounts changed. I've attached videos of the new exhaust sounds.

Great price for the work done. How many years and miles on your old motor mounts? I have the exact same exhaust setup as you. Been running it for about a year and love it!

It's a 2010 with 46k miles, never been changed before.

That's a tremendous price for the work that was done!
Enjoy the new sound. Gundo plus center muffler delete makes for a great flat six sound in my book.

Those look like Illinois plates on your car. Mind if ask where you had this done?

I’m going to do mine next weekend assuming everything comes in. I’d gladly pay $400 to not spend the weekend doing it!

I installed the Fisters and already had the FVD U-torque cat delete but with OEM headers.

I was worried that it would be too loud but my goodness, this is my favorite mod ever. The burbles and pops are intoxicating.

I have a 2009 with 36k miles. The mounts are original too. Did you notice a significant handling and NVH difference after you installed the FF mounts? I know mounts are a wear item but I really have no baseline to compare mine to. I think the car handles fine on the current mounts, just don’t know if it could be noticeably better if I replace them. NVH levels seem fine with the original mounts too.

I didn't get to drive it enough to notice handling, but definitely notice a difference in NVH, it feels smoother. Yeah I felt like my car was handling fine on the oem mounts as well, I honestly thing the exhaust tip positioning alone is worth it haha.
