Actually, one characteristics of Porsche 911s is that you can feel the imperfections in the road through the steering wheel. I have felt these undulations and imperfections often in my car but I never let go of the wheel while this was happening. Does this always happen with you car or only in certain situations?
Tramlining......big fat rear tire.....roads with traffic grooves in them....It happens.....it was really bad on the 350 Shelby......The tires want to track in the grooves....so the car twitches around some....I found it best to moderately grip the steering wheel and let it do its thing.
Hi, I’ve had the car since August. Initially the tracking was a little off and the front tyres were about 10 years old and it was very skitty at highway speed. It settled down after resolving those issues. Most other cars I’ve driven (not sports cars) over bumps and undulations, the steering wheel doesn’t move.
I had wondered if it’s a characteristic of having no weight over the front + low profile tyres + short travel suspension etc etc

(to note, standard pasm shocks and springs)
It’s a feature not a bug.
I own (and have owned) several sports cars and the 911 isn’t even the most “communicative” through the wheel. That feedback is great and did get numbed with the next gens (electric replacing hydraulic).
