Hi group, I had a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's drop shipped from Tire Rack to my local installer. Got a call today as they were going to mount them that the rears looked odd - more like Cup 2Rs. Shallow tread depth and the outer groove about half depth with no wear bars. I've searched a lot for pics and it looks like a few pics of Cup 2 tires look like this but the vast majority are Cup 2Rs. The fronts are totally as expected. Note the rears are 315 and not the 305s that normally would be used on a C2S. Anyone ever seen this?

In other news, the set I have on today isn't quite aged out so I will get one more DE out of them, yay.

TR does offer shaving and heat cycling but as you can see the paint and mold marks are all there so they aren't shaved.

Thanks for posting this. Those grooves look all the same depth and there's even wear bars on the outermost ring. Definitely not the same as what they sent me. I'm not really concerned about it just really curious.

I have a set of Cup 2 Connect. Looks a little different, don't think I have a picture at the moment though.
