997 Gt1
I've recently heard rumors about a GT1 version of the 997.
But first,
The 997 cab or the Turbo is supposed to be out next
The C4 and the Targa might be discontinued models.
Instead the C4S should be available after the Turbo.
Last of them all should be the GT3 in about 18 months after the first 997
Now, there are some rumors of a GT1, and I have no idea what it could be. Perhaps a development of the engine from the 997 or from the Carrera GT. Does ANYONE have any information about a new GT1?

Where did you get 18 months after the 997 release for the 997 GT3 intro? The AutoWeek article on the 997 announcment lists a 2007 intro for the GT2/3 variants.

A new 997 GT1? Now we are talking! It would make sense being that Ferrari and the FIA are asking for more Manufacturers to join the FIA GT series. Since the CGT is just a road car, Porsche would need to build a new GT1 to run with the likes of the Maz MMC. Very telling if this rumor is true and VERY exciting!
