Default 2011 Carrera S using Morimoto products

Any one here have a 2011 Carrera S (997.2) with non adaptive HID's that is successfully using Morimoto LED products? Specifically headlight and side markers.

We're a dealer for them, can we answer any questions?

They will work on 997.2, just have to flash the ECU for the error codes.

Also interested in the Morimoto product for my 997.2 w/ non adaptive HID. I watched the YT video of the install on a 997.1 - but was wondering if the unit (and install) is the same for the 997.2? Specifically, after install, would my 997.2 now have DRLs on the Morimoto units as well as the existing bumper LED DRLs?

Damn, I’m usually pretty good about that - but now, I’m “that guy”…

thx for pointing me in the right direction nonetheless.

While this sounds "reasonable" and this is the same vague info Morimoto has given. Have you actually seen it done successfully? There are NUMEROUS .2 owners with the xB that are very frustrated since spending hours with Piwis techs and indys with NO SUCCESS!!!

Default Errors

I have a 997.1 with halogen headlights and get a "Check dipped beam" error for both sides. The low beams don't even turn on. I have tried reseating them many times, and even adjusted the headlight bracket because I thought maybe the light was contacting the fender and not allowing the connector to seat properly. The high beams work, but I have not driven extensively and have heard from others that they flicker and shake over bumps. Another person with a 997.1 with OEM bi-xenons in the Facebook group "Porsche 997 Enthusiasts" is experiencing the same issues as me. My URL link to the post is not working unfortunately.

Yep, as said above, I'm hearing about many issues with these lights over on the facebook 997 enthusiasts group. I wanted to get the new headlights but will wait awhile until all the bugs are worked out.

I have a set in the garage in their boxes still. I just got notified by one vendor that they may have figured it out... I can't really give more details than that.

They asked me to give them time to test all scenarios... so we will see but it sounds promising.

In my opinion, we should not be selling untested items... and if there are really issues these should be clear to all buyers... the past few threads iv read about these headlights all sound promising... this thread is a wake up call...thanks for sharing and let's hope solutions are nearby for all who have already purchased

There were multiple cars tested prior to launch. The issues are not the norm and are minor and fixable. It is a small set of people that have posted on multiple places and multiple times with their issues. Having to route a power cable to fuse box as example or coding a car - which we had just figured out/published the right settings before anyone else did ... is not uncommon. Dealer coding isn't always published for other products but feels appropriate here. It is an electronic part and these things are common. I am making people aware though and providing solutions as I get them - instead of not making them known publicly, leaving it to others, or giving up. I am proactively helping not just my customers but customers who bought direct or from other dealers. Officially though - questions should be directed to Morimoto. Some want to see these succeed and some hope they don't. Many are enjoying them daily as we speak. That makes it worth it.

On the plus side if you bought at the introductory price you saved about $400.
