Anything tricky about replacing the front stabilizer bar links?

Really? Both ends turn and swing... hence the little ball joints. I don't understand how not doing what you recommend is bad. My procedure was to lift both side and unload both wheels (otherwise there is torque on the sway bar) and just tighten them. I did not perceive any ill affects from this.
I am interested as I have new rear links on order right now... probably doing the work this week. The shop manual I have just notes to remove and install.... two simple, single sentence instructions... shortest procedure I have in my manual I think. Actually, the manual notes "With the vehicle raised....".

I've adjusted the sway bar links in my adjustable sway bars many times, believe me.

One more thing.... the left and right are different part numbers... I don't think you can swap them from side to side.
Regarding creaking.... lubricate the clamps that hold down the sway bar to the chassis. If you remove both links at the same time, the bar should swing up and down freely so you can shoot some lube on the interface and work in the lube by swinging the bar up and down.
BTW, I have a set of GearWrench ratcheting box wrenches... got 16mm. Actually I have quite a few 16mm wrenches and such including a 16mm pass-through ratchet set. Maybe I have 'em all and none left for others?
Oh, and good catch on the T30.
