Question RE: Rear Deck Fan - Paranoid or ?
Greetings,
Recently (through reading some posts about our rear deck fan), I noticed that when I start my car and get out to check the rear deck, the fan spins after only about 1 minute or so after the engine is started. I know its normal for the fan to run time to time when the engine is being used on the road AND I know it runs after you kill the engine after a spirited drive session.
My water and oil temps seem fine and the coolant is the middle of Max and Min.
Is this normal? I never noticed it because I usually drive off after starting the engine and not checking the rear deck fan. Garage temp was 84 degrees F today.
Thanks for any responses.

Greeeaat ...not sure on the engine bay temp senor, no dash lights. I'm gonna hook up a code reader, but nothing out of the normal as for operation. If you know where the engine bay temp sensor is I would greatly appreciate the location. I read that you can check said sensor if it's not sitting right with a mirror and flashlight but no location information was provided.

It’s on the right side of the engine bay, sitting down between the intakes for cylinders 4 and 5 (the two closest to the rear of the car). Here’s a crappy pic of where it should be mounted. I went hunting for mine earlier tonight after some fan issues, and found it missing its grommet and laying down on the engine. It’s zip-tied up high now until the new grommet gets here.

I've heard either the grommet is missing or the sensor laying on the engine (like yours) triggering the fan. I'm hoping that's my issue as well. I probably have to take my car in for service soon but delaying the inevitable HAHA.
