Default Original, OEM or aftermarket brakes??

I need to replace the brakes on my 2008 4S. I am really confused with all the choices out there. There are aftermarket rotors and pads that cost more than OEM. And of course the original Porsche parts, which seem expensive but I don’t understand why the price varies between vendors.
I.e. FCP euro doesn’t carry original brake parts, they have Zimmerman, are they any good.

No help here on the rotors but shortly after buying my 2011 C4S with 17,000 miles on it and original brakes I couldn’t stand the constant black dust mess from the OEM pads. Replaced pads with Hawk Ceramic. One tenth the dusting, same stopping characteristics once bedded in. Go with Hawk ceramics for pads you’ll be satisfied.

Brembo has a new design for rotors (PVT technology), that reduce the risk of cracks around the airflow holes.
you can use Brembo pads or other brand.

I am a fan of Zimmerman - being in Canada and winter driving the car - the rotor coating is important to prevent rust, as is thickness, type of metal . I would rate these very high. ATE and Sebro are also good ! Ultimately you cannot go wrong with any of the brands offered.

Brembo unless OEM offering I am not a fan off (talking low and mid range stuff - mostly made in china, without coating, crappy steel/iron/alloys used)

Where are you seeing OEM brakes for less then Z/ATE or Serbo.
99635140904/ 99635141004 retail for $285 each ($190 at sunset each)

I don't really agree.
Went with Hawk Ceramics as well to reduce dust and I really really miss the bite of my OEM pads.
The ceramics definitely don't grab the same.
But the low dust is nice.
I won't be buying the same once these wear out.

Thanks for sharing. Hope these help. The drilled rotors run cooler at the track but always crack out on me before there is even any discernible wear.

I had the same experience. Unless there is a good amount of heat in them the initial bite was all but missing.

Also had same experience with low brake dust pads, they keep the wheels clean, but they don't like getting wet, and they initially made a racket when cold.
