Default Leather Repair

Hello Rennlist, Murse here with a question about leather repair. My 911 is my daily so a bit of patina on a nearly 16-year-old car is part of the deal but some of the wear & tear is starting to bother me.

My car is a launch edition Carrera 4 and was optioned with full leather interior, nearly all of which presents exceedingly well. The door handles and forward-most part of the arm rest look like this:

Surface finish is worn on handle, forward-most portion of arm rest, several small divots from the first owner’s ring setting digging into the door panel

Are these areas repairable or will I be better off sourcing replacement leather bits? Am I overthinking this since I have no intention of ever selling the car?

Thanks for your input!

I think that could be repaired.

Colourlock Leather Fresh.

Short video demonstration...

Can be purchased directly from the manufacturer - in colors to match Porsche interiors. (You'll need to research the availability of the color match for your car - not sure if it's black or dark gray...)

Colorlock products are also available on Amazon or the Rag Company.

Thanks, Ironman, I’ll take a look. My leather is black but this was photographed in bright sunlight.

I second Colourlock….

FYI for those with Sand Beige interior the color match from Colourlock is spot on….very easy process, patients and time is key.

Another one happy with Colourlock. My interior is Graphite Grey and I had some wear on my drivers door storage lid.....blended perfectly and you would never know it was applied to that area.

Can this be used for vented optioned seats , without clogging the holes in the perforated leather on our 997’s?

I just looked up colourlock...site is down for the US but regardless...is it a dye? I saw something on Amazon where you can choose your color but I also saw other items from CL that don't seem to be color specific....

It is a dye, however I believe the dye is suspended in a carrier that adds and fills in imperfections in damaged leather.

The Colourlock UK site is up and from that you can get more detailed information. The US site appears to be responsive to email inquiries.

Here's additional information from the UK site:

Thanks. I figured out the issue...there wasn't a color choice on the amazon listing I was on because it says F034 lower down in the description - which is black. Thanks again for the help, might order this...but i did just dye my bolsters...again...so probably will have to wait until it rubs off...again...

Can you confirm for me/us that F012 equates to Porsche Sand Beige. Would like to double check before buying.

I've been using Color-Plus from the 1980s. Their leather conditioner called Soffener, is amazing. The first time I used them was to recolor a blue leather, water damaged "A" pillar in a 1986, 928.

I don’t see anything on the packaging or the bottle that says F012. I went on Colourlock European website and ordered specifically “Porsche Sand Beige”

I suggest contacting Colourlock directly to check it is correct in case you are ordering from another source. Like I said mine was a spot on match, cannot tell anything was done and looks brand new.
